The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift

Yesterday meet up with my ex-colleagues at newly renovated Newton Circle Food Centre for dinner. It was a very quick dinner and some catching up. Total bill come up to about $180.00 for 9 person. Izzit expensive??? I personally feel that's a little too expensive. As usual we will use the bill figure, table number, number of people, etc. to come out with 4 number to buy 4D. Hope we are able to win. Whahaha...

After which went for a movie - The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift. A very entertaining movie.

Last Saturday went to Marina to see fireworks. As usual the fireworks brighten up the night sky for about 15 minutes. The place was crowed with damn lot of people.

HongKong - 01/08/06 to 05/0806

Yes I'm back from my Hong Kong trip. My flight was delayed by more than 3 hours. Damn it!!! When I reached Singapore it was about 3am, suppose to reach by 11+. I'm too lazy to write what happened each day, will just sum up the whole trip. Let the photo do the talking bah.

The boarding time suppose to be 2015, but it was delayed till 2325. The flight KA 870 was delayed to the next day. Can't imagine if my flight was delay to the next day.

In awhile we are high up in the sky, above the clouds.

Us with spec - the nerdy look.

Arrive at HongKong International Airport.

The card that bring us around HK. Can be used from train to bus, from bus to ferry.

This is the hotel we are staying in - Stanford Hotel. Although is a budget hotel, its clean and cosy. Took quite awhile before we found our hotel.

These are the few recommended eating place by forum and tourist guide.

Here are some of the foods we ate. All are highly recommended. Haha...

Some name of the MTR station.

The first time in my life I experience typhoon.

The tallest building in HongKong - International Finance Centre (IFC). One IFC is 39 storeys (the one on the right) and Two IFC is 88 storeys.

Photo taken near the "Star Ferry" Terminal.

These photos are taken in Two IFC. Not knowing we are able to go up to the tower for viewing, by checking with the person at the information counter they say we can go to 55 storey for viewing. We just need to get a visitor pass from them. From there you are able to see The Peak, Central and Wanchai.

This Peak Tram bring us all the way up to the Peak. It travel on the slop that is so steep that the buildings you pass look like they're leaning at a 45 degree angle.

As for now, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is the only attraction at The Peak. The Peak Tower is undergoing a major makeover, a place worth visiting.

Here are some of the wax figures of great leader in the past and present. Can you name them???

Few of the successful sportman around the world.

Can you recognise every single one of them???

Taking shots and fooling around with the wax figuares. All look so real even with a closer look.

This is the spectacular view of the surrounding city skyline.

The sky is turning dark, all the skyscrappers are lighted up. Beautiful...

This is the "Lion Pavillion". This is the best place to take photo of the city skyline.

Using the lighted city skyline as background. Nice right???

Planned to take this cable car ride to the "Tian Tan Buddha Statue" at Lantau Island, but they delay their opening dunno due to what reason.

Here is the famous Big Buddha, the world largest's, seated, outdoor, bronze Buddha statue. You have to climb up a total number of 268 flight of steps to reach the top. They took 10 years to complete this project, can't imagine how they do it.

No cable car, the only way to get to the top is by the bus. Photo took on the bus no. 23, about 45mins to reach. We are too bored, so took a picture to kill time.

The bus was full of people, some fallen asleep on the journey. The journey was boring, nothing much to see only trees and more trees. There are a few housing around and a prison. Why built a prison here???

Dunno what is this call, but its real big lor...

On the way up to the top, have a break to take some photo.

The weather was not good when we went. Although its not raining, but the wind was damn strong and the fog was damn thick. At time the fog cover the whole statue. We waited for the fog go off before we can take picture.

After a long wait, here are some clearer photo of the Big Budddha. There is a exhibition hall under the statue, but we din went in becos there is a entrance fee to be paid.

Took from the top, can you see the fog???

Din manage to go to the "Wisdom Path" (Heart Sutra Wood Inscription). On the way there are few fallen trees cause by the strong wind. Walked not far in we decided to turn back, we feel unsafe as we can't find people around.

Took the Disney train to the Disney station, but we din went to the Disneyland. As we think the its too expensive. The train and the station was cute and everywhere is well decorated.

The IFC in the night lighted up.

Finally after the 3rd visit, we manage to see the "Symphony of Lights Multimedia Show". Last 2 night the show was cancel due the bad weather. After watching, I personally feel its not that amazing.

Went to the Hard Rock Cafe Hong Kong to have a look and took some picture. Their shop selling the merchandise was quite small.

Bought some of HK goodies back, this is one of them. The famous " Wife Cake" from Hang Heung Cake Shop. There is another famous wife cake from Wing Wah, but most people perfer Hang Heung.

Most people who watch Hong Kong's movie or series will recognise this. It the Mid-Levels Escalator. Indeed this area need such long escalator, there are slop everywhere.

Went to the Avenue of Stars, in the evening. Due to the typhoon, there are strong wind, but not raining. Can you imagine the wind is so strong that can't even hold the camera firmly, so picture turn out blur.

At the airport waiting for our delay flight. Still act to be happy.

Finally time to board the plane, went in and get our passport stamp and there we go back to our home - SINGAPORE.

Basically things over there be it foods or clothing are not cheap. The only cheap thing I can think of is their perfume. With the sale season now, you can find perfume having 50% discount. SaSa is everywhere, their outlets are more than the Mac you can find in Singapore. Another brand you can find it everywhere is "Xu Liu Shan", drinks are not cheap. Each drink is about SGD$ 4 - SGD$ 5, but still there are many people drinking it. Another thing is its better to be able to speak Cantonese or go with someone that can speak. If not then you will experience a duck talking to a chicken. Serious, only those people at bigger department store can speak English and Mandrain. Didn't bought much thing. only got myself Lacoste & Giordano polo tee, Puma jacket, Hugo Boss & Armani perfume.
